Operation Hope invited Jonathan in to moderate a very necessary conversation. He spent two hours discussing and defining goals, masculinity, dignity and personal finance and where they intersect particularly for young Black men.

Jonathan was a guest panelist along with Denver Police Division Chief Thomas, Denver Sheriff Dept Community Affairs Liaison Bennie Milner, Denver Dept. of Safety Community Liaison Michael Sapp, Denver District Attorney Juvenile Chief Courtney Johnston, and Denver Independent Monitor Nicholas Mitchell at a recent Colorado Black Round Table summit discussing youth violence prevention.
I was honored to sit on a panel of City and Community experts to discuss community and law enforcement relations and youth gun violence especially as it relates to the Black community.
Jonathan speaking on a panel with Councilman Albus Brooks, Denver Deputy Mayor Erin Brown and Mariama Ndiaye (Bloomberg Associates) about the collaborative efforts he lead to stem the youth violence happening in Denver.
The Transthoretical Model of change is a tool which professionals who do gang intervention (or other human services work) can use to help guide their clients from thoughts and behaviors which are negative and harmful to more ones which are more positive and pro-social.

YOUTH INSPIRATION & ENGAGEMENT
Red Shield invited Jonathan McMillan in to inspire their summer camp participants to be Better Than Average in all areas of their lives.

I spent my football Sunday with these young men from Jack & Jill, defining being #woke as being in the habit to critically think about any and everything.
We engaged in conversations and exercises which helped them understand what critical thinking is and how to develop and use the skills in their everyday lives especially in social media, school, relationships and career.

The Crowley Foundation Boys to Men workshop at the University of Colorado invited Jonathan McMillan in share his story and lessons learned about being a successful young, Black male despite obstacles and challenges.

GROUP FACILITATION & MODERATION
Urban Leadership Foundation of Colorado (ULFC) brought Jonathan McMillan in to moderate their social justice project. The youth participated in a Constitutional RIghts Education workshop and a Q&A session with Denver Police Dept. leadership.
